The countdown finishes........

Day 0 – Friday July 20th 2007

“Why don’t you take a flight to Delhi or Leh & then hire a car from there…”

“You should have lots of time to waste”

“Did your office give you so many days leave?”

“It’s not possible in a car; you need to have a SUV.”

“It’s too tiring”

To start off with before our trip, these were some of the unsolicited suggestions that we had to encounter. But the whole idea was to have an adventure & face some tough situations(we faced quite a few). So, whatever the suggestions, we had made up our mind to go on our adventure.

So, here we are with almost 2 months of planning, deciding the route, arranging our stay at various places, buying stuff at a leisurely pace, getting the cars ready for the trip etc.

So, the day was spent finishing our last minute deadlines at office, getting the printouts, packing our stuff for 22 days sojourn, checking the cameras, batteries & lastly paying a visit to Lord Ganesh to make the whole trip a smooth one.

So, this was going to be one short night, with most of us hitting the bed at 00:30 in the night & alarm set at 3:00 am.
